Hi all,
Long time since I posted on the famous vjforums. But I've had the chance to play with my A/V band SATI in Bat Yam (Israel) thanks to RayV. So I thought it would be a good idea to let you know how it went.
The place is very nice, its on the coast south of Tel Aviv. It doesn't seem to have a too good reputation, but its actually nice and the city council seems to be encouraging cultural events to boost the popularity of the city. I'm saying that because it might enable more VJs and AV acts to play there in the near future. Which is also a motivation to write this gig report.
The welcoming was great, and even if I've had a bad experience in Israel already, this time I was really pleased to meet cool people and stay in a fine place. A lot of this was also down to RayV's warm welcoming (thx again!!). We got to have a look around the city and not only a: "get out of plane >> play >> back on the plane".
The gig itself took place right next to the sea, on a natural grass amphitheater. The video setup was fine (dual screen setup we always use for SATI gigs), the sound was ok (could have been a bit better, but we didn't really express are needs clearly on that matter, so I can't blame the tech team). The gig was good, can always be better!! But we had fun and people seem to agree on that. Many people came down to shake hands and have a chat after the gig. Its always nice to get feedback.
