$35 - Speaker Tripod
$20 - Bracket
$6 - Velcro (there's a lot left)
$5 - Misc Wood (you can probably find scraps that would do)
$3 - Can of flat black spray paint (or ya might have some)
===========
$69 - Very stable, built to hold 100 pounds, most beamers are much less than this. Raises the Projector approx. 6 1/2 feet off the ground, maybe seven. (this gets the beamer above the averager punter, and those that do block the screen are usually in the bottom 1/4 or less of the screen, depending upon ceiling height. no complaints so far <knocks on wood> very portable, breaks down quickly and has screw down clamps for both the legs and the extension. the extension also has a pin->hole lock so it doesn't come sliding down unexpectedly. I've managed to fit this inside a sports car along w/ 4 ppl and a trunk (boot for you UK-types) full of gear. Recommend it for the mobile, bar/club \/ J

i like the coasters WordVirus23 ;)
heres a pic of what i've been using for the last year or so. its been pretty flawless so far. its custom made for the current projector i'm using but i'm sure could be made for any projector. i found the thread size of the ceiling mount holes that are on the bottom of the projector and drilled holes in the mount to match their location. i actually walked around the hardware store with the projector under my arm looking for the correct thread. :)
its mounted on top of a lighting tripod with lighting clamps. can be mounted upside down or right side up. i think it'll go up to about 10 feet. all parts came to about $50 i think.

oh my that's fantastic wondering why I never thought of that it will definitely solve a lot of the headaches that come out of setting up a projector at table level
thanks a bunch

i have always use C-stands , attached to a baby plate screwed into a pancake, and weigh it down with 2 sand bags . i just rent them from theatrical lighting companies , and there $12 a day Canadian per-unit and they can stretch up as high as you need them . they also have the added benifit of being pracialy bullit proof .
