Hi guys,
Just wanted to share this with you; the LED backdrops en screens @ the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium.
Setup : 2 x 4m*9m and 4 x 5m*7m Animation curtains (controlled with Arkaos 3.6 DMX) and 3 projection screens.
I've seen the gigs of Black strobe, UNKLE and Laurent Garnier live.
Really impressive how the lighting guys manage these huge backdrops.
The mostly abstract Animations where completely synchronized with the moving heads/lasers etc. .
The visuals (UNKLE, Laurent Garnier) where mainly preprogrammed imo. I didn't spot a live VJ...
UNKLE was really great, an explosive show with great visuals.
Obviously the visuals and the Animations on the curtains where done by different operators. I've seen this before at other events; lighting, LED walls/backdrops and visuals are controlled by different operators. This way it's difficult to create a coherent set design.
In the future I think that VJ's at big events will also be asked to do the projections on the LED screens and that there needs to be intensive preparation between lighting guys and VJ's so that colour scheme etc. is quite the same...
Anyway great visual show, super festival :sun: ...
