In my ongoing quest to act&talk like a real VJ there are still questions that keep running thru my mind....

@first, I deceided to work with VisualJockey 3,5 (when released...) has anyone got an idea when it will be released? 'coz their site is somewhat misty about it.

second, the guy who ownes the club told me this weekend he would like to walk around with a camera during the night with me mixing these images on the screen, after I told him that I got 1 input left so it could be possible he WANTED that fast and when I explained that 200ft. of cable thru the club while opened was not the best idea he also agreed in a wireless system, well, here's my question...what system is wireless, can be put into my remaining s-video input and of course won't cost directly Eur 1000,- or so?(does it exsist anyway??)

then @ third, I would like to create 3Dleters that swing around on screen forming a word in extruded letters with shadows etc.
I've tried a little in Amapi 3D wich is by my knowledge the only thing I have at this moment to fix something like that, but I got to have a math-grade to understand it

@last... I'm working with large HTML pop-ups to project the club's program on the screen but the largest font size I can make is +7 (wich is like 36 pts.size in MS Word) but I would like it bigger of course

Okay you all that's about it, thanks for any answers on this, I really haven't found anything on the web that is so usefull to me than this forum&vj central, maybe it's nice for you to hear that I have had my first gig last weekend and it was not bad :D

bye 4 now,
Michiel *when can you call yourself VJ?*

With a css stylesheet you should be able to set the size of text in pt's.

google for font-size: 12pt; or something

<p style="{font-size: 264pt}">Hi im big</p>

for wireless cam connection you could just use a 2,4 ghz transmitter, place the reciever within 100 meters max
(marmitek, trust doesn't matter price about 60 EURO)

3d text: why not use flash? very straightforward + loads of usefull free mini apps to take the workload from you......

next get a director copy

--- WOW bluelive...... like the drugs you took:smurf:

For rotating 3D text try text/GRIND (http://www.xgrind.com). That's all it does, plus keying colors and audioreaction (and some psychidelic video feedback fx).

for the 3d text: just wait for my upcoming effects package for visualJockey (pdoom_one PRO), which will contain an effect that does just that.
Animated realtime 3d text (sound reactive) with different rendering styles, can be integrated in other 3d scenes, and the text content can even be modified while the show is running.
And of course you can apply all the cool visualJockey effects to it :)

Well thank you all, I can say my text problem is rather solved since I'm going to work with VJ 3.5 and the solution from Bluelive will help me till VJ is released :yep:

Okay then my wireless camproblem, I can't find a manufacturer wich has something like that, professional cams have a PMCIA slot with a wireless LAN card, I don't think our club can afford something like that :D
So still I'm wondering if anyone knows a cheaper solution for this...

Ow and something new, does anyone know a way to play .RAM files without realplayer? my laptop doesn't install RP8

that's enough for now I guess...

okaphone & display hebben beide minizenders in het assortiment, maar standaard av zender met battery is goedkoopste en werkbaar als het om cam gaat

@Display&Okaphone I couldn't find anything that came near videotransmitting so if you have an adress for your second option (standaard av zender met battery) I would be very gratefull :)

When I was rushing trough Media Markt here in Antwerp I found something, but had not the time to check it.
It could send audio and video wireless from your DVD to your TV, so, if you check the connections and the data transfer rate (speed) maybe it's useable for you, maybe it's just crap for the old men who's to stupid to understand that female cable has to connect with male and that you cant past two male connectons with pattex to each other :d I don't think your so stupid ;)

uhm in reaktion to al above options ment to transmit video signal...

My problem is that the transmitting side is a portable cam, so the transmitter needs to be mobile/wireless/battery-fed too
The video transmitting thingy's I've found so far are basicly 2 base stations with adaper PSU, not something I could use...

thnx again for the effords :)

wordvirusses link was the idea i was thinking about.....
thought this ought to be possible with any av-transmitter set, as they seem to have a plain 12v input....
get some batteries, some tape, butcher up a headphone set for the wires and you've solved it

or go to gamma and get a nice 12V electrical tool batterie(they even have nice flat ones)
