I have a meeting with the latin american representative of Apple. The people who are bringing him here want me to meet him because they like the visual stuff I am doing.

I am preparing a list of topics to go over and some sort of wish list and if any of you think about something they can improve I can write it down as well.

I am gonna go over the importance of the visuals, I am bringing the D-Fuse book with me.

I am gonna show him Modul8 because I belive that software is an industry standard and need a lot of suport.

Then a few details about Final Cut Pro and some other stuff.

Today is Monday July 9th, by tomorrow at noon I will write down your stuff if you want me to give them something. Some objection about powerbooks, things regarding boothcamps etc etc.

Please make a note about the quicktime bug that make new MacBookPros crash when loading more files than half the amount of Ram in the machine.

It is a serious problem.

thanx

Yea and if you can, find out if they will have OSX86 available for PC to Run OSX!
It's been over a year since the hack, and you'd think they would have came up with a proper version by now:)

Ask about Quartz Composer 3, and core animation!! love to hear how they react to that question cos Modul8 might be the mainstream it ain't the best , they might get you to sign the NDA but then your eyes will be open to the future

I do not believe they will because they will have to make sure OSX runs fine on every PC system and if everything goes wrong teh bad publicity will affect Apple shares.

I remember back in 1997 before Jobs went back to Apple, Apple to survive gave the licence to 7 other companies for the clones. In no time there where problems because some video cards didn't physically fit in 2 of the 7 clones so... you had the insecurity of not having a reliable enclosure in an already small market share system. That was the drop that overflow the glass to make Jobs back to Apple and the first thing he did was to end the clones.

The success of Apple is that they run under their own controlled environment and releasing the OS officially would implied a bunch of responsabilities they shure do not want at the moment, nor I think they would bother to have OSX running in other platforms.

Thing is OSX is a clone itself of Free BSD, and therefore (like in the family of languages) can understand, and be understood across the big 3 OS platforms
The reason why Jobs is reluctant to open up to this is that there is much more money to be made in the gimmick mac items like ipod's and iphones ATM..
If Job's could overtake the Bill Gates domination of OS by doing this, I think he wouldn't hesitate at all in getting OSX to work seamlessly across these other platforms...

suggest that they bring back the Amiga 1000 .. . those awesome machines had pal and ntsc tv-output way back in 1985, were running a windows system that apple only became as cool as ten years after.

they could call it the Amigpple Retro-Styling Release. that would generate heaps of good publicity for them.

Personally I believe that for Apple would be very funn and with no real objections to see OSX running on PCs. The problem would come in asuming the responsability making the OSX running just fine in every PC.

Now, there was this interview with Jobs and Gates a few months ago and they went over the market share. Jobs said he has the 7% or 5% of the market but microsoft has markets that Apple does not cover like the robotics in the factories or administratives operators or the army. In the graphic industry Apple has the biggest share still. So there are markets where they compete and others that are totally away from each other.

I am going to print what I have and turn it in to this guy. I wrote Boris at Garagecube but no answer, I am going to lobby him any way.

I will let you know.

Hi my brother was following this thread back about 18 months ago when all this was happening and he lost the thread link but I believe Buy to Let Inshurance (http://www.landlordinsurance.org.uk/) is the one he was telling me about and just wondered what the outcome of it was?

How was it meeting with them aswell? Was it a good meet?

No, I am sure I wasn't responsible of that one.

BTW, the meeting with that guy was very dissapointing, all he wanted me to say was that I was using Motion for my live shows and I told him Motion was very slow and there were better softwares for that.

He wanted to have me at teh Apple web site for an interview if I said that but I do not sell my loyalty to Modul8 or Motion Dive 3 just like that... Even I regret it today! I could shut so many peoples mouth today if I had an interview at the Apple web site
