What is the minimum rez on clips that most of you use? I go with a min of 320x240 - so stuff like eyewire preview clips arent good enough....

Anyone?

we use 352x288, because it's the half PAL...

I vary between 320x240, quater PAL and 400x300, depending on the look I want, I personally love the chunky low rez look:D

I've been thinking more along the lines of CDJ-1000's!

but Denons would work...

(careful now, we're going OT)

Maybe if I answer the original question I can save this thread from devolving into off-topic mumblings.....what was the question? Oh Yeah.
resolution.

I've been converting my tapes to VCD, originaly using the NTSC standard of 352x240 (mpeg1), but I've been messing with the PAL rez now, 352x288, for reasons best left unsaid right now...

As for minimum rez, I try to stay at/above 320x240 but have been known to use stuff thats lower.

CHUNKY IS FUNKY!!!!!

Hmmm this VCD mod is done by an aussie technician on denons only as far as I know (still waiting to hear back on options).... sorry lev.

I have been known to use clips as low as160x120 if the final output was pleasing to what I was after...... then you have the beautiful freeze/zoom of the CVI which wil get you down to a couple of huge flashing blocks of colour :)

Screw the rez nazis.... CHUNKY IS FUNKY!!! ( been tellin ppl that for years :) good to see others catching on)
