5657 MELROSE
HOLLYWOOD

They are remodeling but it's close to being finished. there are 4 flat panel tv's throughout the venue and a projection.

pretty intimate w an upstairs chill area. we also are pretty cool about letting other vj's get a mix in if they like.

hit me up offlist to get on the list.

I found a google cache of the article, looks like he's at Star Shoes five nights a week, but Tuesday 9:30pm is the night mentioned. The contact phone number they give is (323) 462-7827

Please leave a reply under (US-Los Angeles VJs show yourselves!) thread if you are in LA!

OK, Micheal Allen did a special VJ night few month ago on a tuesday night, and that's what the article was for. He is a resident VJ at Star Shoes from Wen. to Sat. nights. He does a lot of rare 16 mm projections there. He is in progress of putting together another VJ event, so will keep you posted!

I go by NEUROPROCESS, and currently VJ every Sundays at Star Shoes projecting kick-ass visuals. Come see for yourself and say Hi to me upstairs. 6364 Hollywood Bl. in Hollywood.

I'm trying to bring together LA based VJs, so please leave a reply and tell us what you do under (US-Los Angeles VJs show yourselves!) thread!

good luck!;)

I have an event coming up on June 21st at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. You can buy tickets at the website www.unit5.net. It's my first large scale event having done smaller 1-100 person events.

I'll be running Visual Jockey and Flowmotion (if I can get it to work right). I don't know much about VJ culture so I'd relish the opportunity to meet some colleagues and find out what's going on beyond the tip of my nose. I'll probably be pretty busy since I'm in charge of the lights too but I'll always make time for a drink and a smoke.

Quick background.

I started as a DJ in 1988. Worked the mobile circuit (colleges, high schools, frat parties, house parties, etc.) until 1995. Got into the wicked drum and bass. Went to grad school in 2000. Dabbled with Macromedia Flash projections in 2001. Hooked up with Unit5 productions in 2002 doing visuals at Prana, Friday nights at Restaurant Halie, Pasadena. And here I am.

If you want to contact me for specific information about gear and method or whatever, you can send an email to writersbloc@hotmail.com.

Hope some of you can come on out. The museum is a great venue.
