I'm a composer in need of a vj for my final composition at Trinity College of Music,

The piece is 20mins and written for small orchestra, two synths and live electronics. I can fork out ?20 for your troubles. I'm also a producer/dj and co-run a Electro/Breaks night so it could mean more work (check out my myspace.com/cliquebeats).

If you want to hear drafts and samples of the final piece then email me @ lharris@tcm.ac.uk and see whether you get any ideas from it. Its more art driven then anything else and the piece is also conceptual so it can't be urban.

Cheers,
Luke

clique I doubt 20 pound would cover what is really needed to spec your job. After meeting with you to spec the job, rehearsing, pulling together clips (not even making new content) and then actually performing you'd be up for nearly 20 hours. Most starting out vjs are happy to do charity jobs if they help them get a real leg up, but not really just to help someone pass uni and help someone elses career. Try and guarantee some definate slots or future paid work with the orchestra to help them recover the large investment needed for vjing (I've spent over 7000au) which in return helps them in their career. You couldn't even hire a video mixer for that price let alone all the other gear and time we spend creating our sets.

maybe you need to find another student on some kind of visual course, if there is no budget for this project. when i was studying and we needed something outside of our skillset, we contacted students for example on a sound course within the university's media school, for help (and vise-versa), the resulting projects, were benificial to both students, as coursework.
