DJ Show
Lancaster
Representing Pioneer and assisting Mixmash on Sat/Sun at the above DJ show was quite interesting. Mainly aimed at and mobile DJ's attending I was surprised at how many are now aiming to include visuals in their show either by use of the commercial discs that MixMash supply or by more traditional VJ style work. I've done 3 or 4 of these smaller shows with Pioneer and MixMash now and the interest has increased by over 100%.
A year ago I would recieve a little interest with visitors appreciating the use of the visuals but now they are asking much more in depth questions about content availablity, types, production etc etc.
NuVJ was on display too but I'll wait until I get my hands on one to perhaps comment more fully. I also had a chance to have a closer look at MixMash's full disc collection with regards to the Shadow Dancers disc etc and there is some very good ones for those looking for Shadow Dancing material...I came home with "Mistress Kiki's Fetish Temptation"...."Girls who Like Girls" would be recommended too :Smoking:
MixMash have now added previews of the content discs on site:

A few interesting developments too on DJ Insurance and and Association. I met Ian Napier of "The Disc Jockey Association" "DJA" some very good ideas from Ian and I requested he includes "VJ" in his campaign. He will also be offering a service for P.A.Y.E and as they will be going through a 3rd party should be able to offer you a better rate of Tax... may be worth investigating:

Hopefully I'll recieve more info soon with regards to a 2 day show in the South. The Promoter is very keen to have a few VJ Seminars included at this event. I know without asking who is likely to be interested but may ask a few more to come on board for this should it come to Fruition. There may also be scope for VJ performances too.
All in all in truth a very poorly attended, promoted and organised show but well worth while for the contacts made and as an insight on the Mobile DJ's point of view. Visuals are certainly growing. More of you should attend these shows ie DJ orientated....it's good for business;)
