Enjoyed last night in Sheffield. Was very interesting to meet new people and see their ways of producing and performing...not to mention the programmes I have not yet investigated. Thanks to Martin (ASMD) and Joe (Scratchpole) for their organising and efforts.
After our little get together they both tried their best to lead me astray and dragged me into the Tuesday club...Uni D&B night....it's one thing when your performing at one of these but as a punter! a good looking night but with crap looping DVD's :(......my head hurts this morning....and yes we did grab the promoters;)
Martin demonstrated his retro side and his new MX50...when I say new...mint condition...good buy Martin even if I did then carry it around the Uni for you :)
It only cost me a few $'s in petrol a pastie on the way home (no jellied eels) and a very expensive speeding fine on the way home:(
Consolation arrived this morning in the form of my CG8 :)

Great stuff Steve! Thanks to all who turned up and showed an interest. Photos will be posted just as soon as I remember where I put my camera cable...
Video People will hopefully return as a regular event in the spring. Who knows, we even promote it this time!

look forward to it Martin. I'd like to add to the above that the visuals at the Tuesday club were good stuff...it's just the fact that looping DVD's and at times not so looping....blue Sony DVD's menus on frquent display are pants...I wish these promoters would use a live VJ....being such a busy night it would hardly dent their profits.....keep at it Martin they may give in to the Sheffield contingent :)

I told you Steve (not counting the bars) the Union has 10 installed projectors and two floating plasmas across their 4 venues. But the general management seem to be of the ilk that "as long as there's something on the screen, it's ok"
They need people like us to show them what they're missing out on.

Great night, big respect to everyone who made the effort.
A lot of good experience to share.
I hope we all learnt something, even if it is that students love Kylie, nice one Medlo.
Special thanks Steve, (Kit dragon/speedster) enjoy learning the CG8!
It was the (old) D&B that hurt your head wasn't it...
Looking forward to the next time (Before Easter, all being well)
Now where did I leave my superstar contacts list....

The pre-event meeting. Check out the James Bond Stylee chairs. By the looks of people shying away from the camera, clearly our "VJ Style" isn't up to scratch. Yes, we even had an agenda!

Never before has the Raynor Lounge seen so much video gear. Everyone was using a different style and software (including Resolume, GridPro, Arkaos, Pilgrim and, erm, Edo!)

Steve packs the booth with his DVJ rig. Well, it would be rude not to wouldn't it?
