The international VJ Conference AVIT>C23 will present a programme at Berlin's iconic BCC from December 27th to 30th, while showcasing VJ works across Alexanderplatz the M12 gallery, and closing with an 'plug-in' a/v jam at c-base. Part of this year's 23C3 Chaos Communication Congress, AVIT>C23 is built on the committment and involvement of the VJ community: More than 20 presentations, VJ-talks, techniques and technology lectures, and experimental work-groups will be offered and over 90 visual artists will present their showcases, all with the aim of fostering peer-to-peer development of this emergent scene.
AViT>C23 is proud to welcome over 30 musicians and over 90 visualists from Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Yes there are reduced prices during the nights. In the M12 you pay 4 euro from 10 p.m. onwards and in the bcc you pay 5 euros from 11 p.m. onwards.
also look in your private messages...
Other then that its all shaping up quite nice after a little chaotic first day things have settled and are working now. Lots of familiar VJ faces around but also lots of newcomers to the AVIT scene. We really are trying to post photos as soon as possible but our gallery plugin for the avitc23 blog didn?t make it into the timeschedule we are working on a solution on this. There are other blogs out there reporting from the event like
http://www.artificialeyes.tv/
for example with also photos and stuff on there.

To be honest, I think the projections could have had a bit more attention and dedication regarding 'presentation', but further it looks like a great event & a good vibe. Big up!
Everyone is looking totally concentrated and dedicated, that's so cool!
hope to be there next year!

and here are my pics

it was a good event.
I only went the first and the second night
could come at day times cause of family business
still i think the quality of the projection in bcc could be much better.
in m12 it was good.
too bad the nightticket at the bcc was only from 0:00 so i couldn't see the vj acts in the evening.
It would be nice to put a programm overview of all days/acts on one big paper at different spots on the venues. especially at the entrance of bcc.
The guys from ccc didn't have one of their own seminars. And they couldn't give me one cause their printer was broken...
But maybe i was the only visiting "tourist" not having a wifi-laptop and buying night tickets instead of passpartouts.
It was great fun to see the chaos around the venue.
But also nice to be in a "clean" M12.
was there also a possibilty to by tickets for single seminars in M12?
there was something about touchscreens and a 16-source videomixer.

having only just recovered from my few days in berlin, hoped to add my impression of the event...
firstly i wish there were more hours in the day.. the wish to stay up all night with the event and try and explore a new city with the few hours of winter daylight available leaves little time for sleeping...
definitly prefered the m12 venue, as everyone there were interested in the visuals. at the bcc venue, where the hacking conference was taking place, most of them couldnt see beyond their laptops to actually take any interest in the screens...
also had a set at a nice chilled venue called club couch, where a lot of people headed on the friday night, then the final party of the conference at another club called c-base and straight to the airport at 8am with mr justin...
was great to put some faces to names and meet some really cool peeps...nice vibes and atmosphere....and i hope i learned a few things..
