Hello someone,
Am running a pc with ati radeon vivo the video outs good but only will display the whole of whats going on in the screen, was wondering if anyone knew of software that'll let my video output be zoomed in on so i can just see the output window on flowmotion - this would save me buyin another video card. :)

there are softs (dont remember names) that copy an area of screen to another window BUT they take VERY much of your cpu power...
so
buy a scanconverter with zoom, you WON'T regret it !!!

thanks 4 helping me out, its really cool that theres a place where us beginers can ask questions; ne way time 4 some more:
do ya think it would be cheaper to get another graphics caard and run the flo mo control window of that onto a normail screen and have the full screen output going out of the radeons tv-out, and if i do that what kinda projector do i need to make it big [ a multimedia one ???? :( or are there like normal tv ones ??? :) ]- cheers

well, a second gfx card is good, but mostly you got black borders on the output and you still need a scanconverter to get those borders away, so a scanconverter IS and WILL be the best way...

A scan converter is also modular, so you can easily use it with another machine if needed. A very sound investment if you're serious about being a VJ.
If you are using a scan converter, any projecter w/ a composite(RCA) or S-video input is what you need.
If money allows, I recommend a projecter w/ at least 1,000 lumen output (lumens = brightness).
Thats just my general rule of thumb for VJs.
1,000+ and you'll be set, anything less and you start to be effected by ambient light and projection size issues.
Although, I've seen very nice results from projecters in the 300-400 range...
Obviously, get what you can afford. And look into renting until you're sure what you want.

right, so this scan converter does it plug in in-between the computer and the monitor like this
____ gfx crd 1 ____
|com|--------------|SCANconvertor|-----------|mon|
|put | | svga |itor |
|er | |
| | composite |
|_____
|project|<0
|or |
or:
gfx crd1 composite
|com|--------------|SCANconvertor|-----------|projector|<0
|put |
|ter | gfx crd2 svga _______
| |--------------------------------|monitor|
so i guess what im asking is will i need another gfx card aswell as scan convertor. I hope evry1 underdstand the pictures and sorry bout coming across being so demanding but thanks lots:)

illustration #1 will do it for you.
no need to buy a second card in addition to the scanny (but it can't hurt either)
