Hi Visual People ! i can see you ! :D

anyway...

Am considering buying the CorioScan Connect (ScanConverter) ;
http://www.omegamultimedia.com/products/tv_one/corioconnect.htm

I'm wondering if the zoom feature will mess with the quality of my output using Arkaos. I use Arkaos live but would like to see the keyboard layout whilst scratching visuals, so that i know what im doing :rolleyes:

What i'm basically asking is; will the zoom on my minimised Arkaos preview screen, output 100%, or are there drawbacks or problems with quality.

also am wondering why a more expensive piece of hardware like the Panasonic WJ-AVE55 (VideoMixer) would not have a zoom feature. You'd think they'd include a zoom feature into a video-mixer.

excuse any stupid questions :sad:

In my opinion, the zoom on a scanny is the most important feature for VJs.
You should notice an IMPROVEMENT in performance on VJ softs as you will no longer run the output @ full screen. It takes way less power to run your output @ 1/4 screen.

As for mixers w/ scanny, check the review for the Roland V-5 on vjcentral (if its still there).
yes! http://www.vjcentral.com/hardware/show/117
Thats the only one I'm aware of to date. And it kind of sucked (640x480 only). But the mixer has some other interesting features too (midi control).
Lets hope Roland gets their shit together and makes a "V-6"....

excellent, i must buy one soon then LEVLHED.

Just wondering if the quality of the zoom varies on differeently priced scan-converters. The one im thinking of buying is only 250 US $

Maybe i can get Digital Planet to let me test one in-store.

Dreamtek SERIOUSLY DO NOT bother with the V5 the scanny in that doesn't zoom its basically just a non-adjustable 640x460 VGA input... pretty useless and ugly as sin as it leaves big empty boarders when mixed with PAL signal.

Oh as for pricing/zoom quality, I guess it would go up proportionally, but I personally broght a cheap scanny years ago and am still using it... it possibly has some of the best bicubic interpolative scaling I have seen.... so yeah test first..... and you might get lucky :)
