I just been getting into VJing as such after spending most of my time animating, creating clips and regular videos. I would like to get a laptop and mix some clips live on a big screen.

Here is the current project I am working on:

I would be interested if anyone had ideas on how to take this forward.

Hi,
The desert stone circle scene that opened your animation video was very good and seemed to work well. Unfortunately the rest didn't match up to the same quality.
Alot of the scenes looked very "CG" without much atmospherics or detail. The overall pace was a little slow, faster cuts between shots along with some FX could make it more exciting. Use some VJ sofware for this.
I found the music a bit boring and low in quality too, maybe something faster?
Liked the overall concept of floating through scenery though.
Hope this helps.

sorry if this sounds harsh but

Im not a fan of effects that look like effects. arcolor does what it does, what eva u put it on. so does kalidascope.

Try styling up your footage in the edit by using the effects in there.

I would say if it looks like an effect dont use it, try using the ones that chage it slightly like brightness and contrast and then change the color or somthing
did you perfom the video live or is it all aranged in the edit

liked the diffrent music tho. nice to see visuals that arnt for dance music

Thanks for the replys. I did this edit in Vegas video, so I am going to put the clips into Arkas and give that a try.

Is there any other software anyone can recommend? I tried Resolume but it seems to be very heavy on the CPUfor what it was doing.

download the AVmixer trial from neuromixer website. download Pete's Free Plugins ... these are FreeFrame plugins. install the FreeFrame plugins as per the online instructions at Neuromixer (very straight forward).

open AVmixer... drag one clip onto one player, another clip onto the other. if you want any built-in or FreeFrame effects to work, you need to turn them on (little latch symbol). you can export Quicktime movs from AVmixer. when the trial period runs out, the app still works, however full screen will not go for as long.. is quite affordable if you decided u wanted to vj with it sometimes. i use it occasionally, and arkaos a lot. AVmixer is fast and fun for some content preparation 4 sure.
