i am currently working on a cd rom and require some feed back, i know its not precisely vj ing but it is along the same lines i.e. music with image.

the cd rom is works in such a way as to take on the roll of a visual audio juke box. (although i dont like the term juke box) . the user picks one of the 3 short films and then some music (in this case drum n bass).

does anybody think this could catch on and if so has anyone experimented in such a way before.

can any one see an aplication for this outside clubs.

the films i created for this piece were made from still images and not film(eg photos drawings etc) has anyone used this method before?

i am new to this vee jayin lark but it seems like fun...

anyone got any tips on 'traditional ' vjing, equipment, methods etc

You might find that DVD would give you the same functionality (choose video, choose audio) with better quality, more storage, and "universal" access. CD-rom has many many platform problems and always requires a speedy compatible computer. DVD plays almost everywhere.

DVD (CD-rom) jukebox is for personal one-person use where user has time to explore and enjoy, not suited for communal "immediate satisfaction" atmosphere of clubs, so I'd say if there is any call for this kind of project it is outside of clubs.
