UK Mobile Voicemails

Hope someone can help me.

How do I directly access someones voicemail without the phone actually ringing. In Ireland you stick a 5 in front of the number and it brings you straight to it. Do the UK networks have the same?

if your on uk orange you can phone your own answerphone and then send someone a voice message - never done it - dunno if it works?
