Since there are soooo many different hardware mixers out there, does anybody know of a cheap (inexpensive) one that I could use to mix audio and video with one slider? I don't need anything fancy. I just want to hook up 2 dvd/video portable players into the mixer to output the video to tv's and the audio to my dj mixer.

the Videonics MX-1? They aren't in production anymore, but are always plentiful on ebay...
Otherwise look into the Sima brand..I'm not familiar w/ the specific models but they are cheap.

the function to mix audio and video with one slider is called "audio follow"

mixers that do it include:-

panasonic ave7, ave55,mx20,mx30,mx50

videonics mx1,mxpro (both have a very bad lag on the crossfade - no fast cutting)

roland V5 (but not the new V4)

Hama DVM1000

and of those the hama dvm1000 is by far the cheapest considering all its other functions, unfortunately the only way to get one is second hand on german ebay :(

WOW, i cannot believe the prices on hardware mixers. I think it is time someone wrote a program for windows that will play mtv type songs to fade in/out just like they have for mp3's. It must be pretty simple, but I guess not in a real demand as of yet.
