Had a late night thought, about using the fibre optic cameras (spy film style stuff - I don't know what the actual state of the technology is).
The thought was to hook two cameras up on orbital style glasses, with our without the lights - if you've not seen orbital play they are basically glasses with lights hooked on the outisde of each arm of the frame, so they get light directly where they are looking - and wiring to a lappy in a backpack. Add in bluetooth (or its better equivalent) and you've got a wandering cam that can give you stereoscopic images and hook that up to a stereoscopic projector for 3d livecam ;)
Would be an interesting way to give roaming livecam stuff in gigs though.

U2 have this on the start of the eluvation tour DVD, bono has a tiny camera behind his glasses, running to a DV walkman, so it could only be used in the edit, not live.

The camera was tiny, a really hard to see behind his glasses, the effect works really well, running with bluetooth, or something similar would be very cool.

but a fibre optic camera, is something i dreamed about, too. isn't it possible to plug a fibre direct between a camera ccd-sensor and the normal camera optic? know what i mean?

I could probably wrangle a loan of one/two of these through my day job, if you want to do this give me a shout. [the ones toward the bottom of the page look most appropriate.

I am curious as to what the images look like, but don't think I'd actually get around to finding out if my idea would work.
If you can loan some it would be interesting to see.

Cheers Dave
