KIND time of day
It is simply interesting to learn how many pay at an 1 hour VJ for performance in the different countries and cities.
I can tell about the my country
In an hour:
On small party 40-60 euro
At big festivals 80-150 euro

And how at you?

hey malbred-- hope u don't mind i moved your thread to The Business Side, might get u some more answers.... and i'm probably the WORST person to answer this as I am a selfconfessed sunday painter, i VJ for fun not rent. But i still get paid (unless its an underground ferebie but thast a different story), usually for a band (small-mid <1000peeps), it's $150 for 2 hrs (Canadian =106 euros). glaleries and art events usually pay nothing.

In Valencia, Spain

1 hour 50-300 euros

Price does not reflect studio production or equipment rentals.

Wow, you guys get it good, we struggle to get those kind of amounts of money for a whole day/nights work, let alone per hour, i dont know if its just not living in a city that means theres generally not much money about, but for an hours work, what we usually get paid works out at probably like 5-10 euros, if that. This is in the south west of england by the way.

i must go outside!
here i?m getting 300-500$ for all the night ( from 1am to 6am ). ( 100 -160 USS ) , and it include studio production... it might be little, but i?m not a pro, i?m only 20 years,,, with 2 party's per month,,, i?m earning more than a regular employee that works 8 hs a day, 6 day per week... so i?m pretty happy.

The grass isnt always greener on the other side. Local wages and currencies will always be different.

So many factors. Some important ones off the top of my head

-work experience
-duration
-scale of the event
-sponsors
-custom work/studio time
-equipment costs
-ability to negotiate

Don't sell yourself cheap.

Wow. Very nice. I'm starting work on a non-profit organization to help people living with AIDS in North America (it's not like we can rely on Bush to take of these things) Perhaps we can get together and make some good...:sun:
