This years Big Day Out rocked big time, but when has it never rocked!!

Wicked VJ set from Edibleplastyc for Concord Dawn (massive d&b)
VJ Finny and VJ Woody also.

Highlight of day was Kraftwerk ($%^%&% unreal) and Underworld (dribble dribble, glazed eyes, dribble dribble)

Being this far away from the action it was a real treat to see two such worldclass acts and I would say that the NZ crowd left a big impression on them as we normally do.

Underworlds setup was totally amazing and sooooo clever. Fantastic to see such yummy visuals. Kraftwerk completly rocked. Awsome graphics and synchronisity.

Very very inspiring

Yeah can't waiti for the one coming in sydney this weekend, was hoping to perform but due to a tight schedule for them and me it didn't pan out :(

Still going though, have seen the setup for Underworld and Kraftwerks's video rigs and am VERY keen to see the show, will report back, might even post some still pics (no video cams allowed :( )

Yes they were utterly amazing. Kraftwerk had a huge amount of gear off to the side of the stage. They were truely wonderful.

Likewise with Underworld. They used four massive sheets of gigantic bubble wrap looking stuff to cover the screen and their visuals looked like it was fairly pixelated to the same size as the bubble wrap. An amazing look was acheived thru the plastic.

The bubbles looked like they were the same size as a 29" tv or larger so you can imagine the scale of the graphics. They used three projectors to cover the screen and the projectors looked as big as very large suitcases or trunks. wopping!!!

Not sure if you like dub but Pitch Black are well worth checking out. They make some really nice earthy dub and their own wicked visuals too. Its all sort of midi'd up I think so their music triggers video loops etc etc. Very tasty indeed. Aotearoa Stylee.

Have fun in the sun
