Hello I'm legoman

With a background in graphic design and a passion for electronic music and digital melodies, I’ve been involved in VJing since the end of the year 2003. This activity allows me to combine my two passions: music and graphic design. My aim is to create a live osmosis of music and visuals.

My sets are in constant evolution. 98% of what I usually mix is made of my own creations, which become enriched weekly. I try to diversify my video sessions in different graphic types but keep my own style.

I like to explore original techniques instead of traditional projections on a 4x3 screen. For example, by using several projectors, other screens sizes (square, very long, vertical etc,...), 3D supports (buildings, statues etc,...) or by playing with transparencies (screens made of mosquito nets, tile, plastic etc.). I can adapt my installations to the architecture and to the restricting issues of the place I’m playing in.

I had the opportunity to present my work in Switzerland, France, Belgium, Poland and Czech Republic at various workshops, parties, concerts and festivals. I was resident VJ at the "Zoo de l’Usine" club in Geneva from November 2004 to February 2006. I played there approximately twice a month. This concert hall, thanks to its program managers, has developed an excellent reputation in Europe for its active promotion of VJing, in particular with the organization of the well-known “Mapping Festival”. I continue to perform there occasionally.

I’m also participating in several dancefloor and experimental audiovisual projects with the Geneva based team Audioactivity, which I am part of. In order to give a new impulse to my work, I moved to Brussels in February 2006. I wish to find in this city, as well as internationally, new opportunities to perform.

Hi Legoman!

Great to see new work from you.

The "Zoo de l?Usine" club in Geneva is indeed
one of the best venues I've ever seen (and played at).

We also have been there at the Mapping festival 2006 and
their dedication and effort for VJs is unparalleled.

http://www.decollage.tv/images/snaps_mapping.jpg

And the dismissing of the room
with the countless silk screens is a wonderful idea.

The visuals in your demo are really beautiful and sophisticated -
there are only a few VJs out there,
who have that sense for typography in visuals and
can handle it like that.

Because not only the message is important (if there has to be one)..
..also the quality and style of delivery!

Nice showreel indeed.

more suspended screens are the way forward (in conjunction with matching visuals such as those great typo animations)... as long as the disco lighting can get turned down... this is a great design to follow.

Do you have any "normal" 4:3 type footage of just your content?

Though the screen setup and overall impression looks good.

I can't really comment on this as I see more of your VJ software and people performing than the content of the visuals.

I gathered it was your content I just wanted to see it more clearly. i.e. like what would come from the mixer.

I love the susended screens, I might give that a try if I get a chance. I love the idea of the visuals changing depending on where the punters are standing.
