Acid Reign w/ Hexagon Screens

Hexagonalism has made it to Arizona!
I performed at a big gig this weekend and used my newly built hexagon screens for the first time. The whole party was a complete success. It was great to break out of the box (literally) and use KillingFranzy's HexPatch. I had such a blast. I had originally attempted to run a live resolume feed into the hex patch and then out to the projector but that was all just a pipe dream. I suppose I just hadn't realized the full potential of the hex patch as a standalone mixing application. It worked great all on its own. I simply played premixed files and worked with various arrangements throughout the night and I must say that having 7 hexagons instead of just one big square screen is sooooo much more preferable. The delay feature alone works wonders...making one video appear to be 7 seperate one!

A very big Thank You goes out to Killing Frenzy for creating the HexPatch and also to Pixylight for all the advice and help you gave me. Thank you guys!

hi there
i have been lurking behind the hexa posts for quite a while now.... congrats.....
i decided to venture in that direction and downloaded the patch folder and the maxmsp 4.5 + jitter, to use it also as a stand alone app, after trying so many time to load my own loops ,i can't make it work. i'm using Os X PB 15".
i can't see anything on the preview, and everytime i load my stuff, the names of the loops that came with the patch are still on the input .....am i missing something?
any help will be super welcome.:not worth

did you follow the directions to the right hand side?
In the next couple of days I'll look over the patch again and make sure the instructions fit the current version.
I know at least one thing has changed, because I moved the position of the power button ;)
If you have problems with the patch, please post in the software forum thread for it, that way I'll make sure to catch your post.

HAHA yep THC, I had that exact same problem at first.
if you read thru all the "my hex patch" thread posts, you'll figure it out.
the simple answer tho is that you have to make a 'resources' folder on your local drive, and in that folder create another folder called mixbits, and in that folder, make another folder called ?vents. Then when you open the hex patch, and turn it on, and go to load those clips in that directory file, you have to click thru each of the boxes that have KF's default names in them, and you will see your own folders appear.

The hex patch is certainly a kynd thing, and once you get to know it a bit, it even gets better!!

Well, you should have to create resources/mixbits
But it should load the folders based on that.
I'll look at the code on that again.
You can choose your own folder (can't save it to default).
