Hi, this is my first post. I just picked up a cheap lcd projector (nec mt1000) that looks like it has misaligned panels. Does anyone here have any idea on how much it should cost to fix this? By the way, this is a neat forum. I had no idea that there was a whole community that was into this stuff.

I'm not sure how much this costs, but one of my beamers has the Green panel out of alignment too... have been curious about how much this is going to cost to fix as well.... or, can this be done by me? I'm rather technical and handy w/ a screwdriver... I'm just wondering are there little adjustment screws on the panels or... I don't dare take my beamer apart w/o knowing if I should even attempt this sort of thing 1st...

..james...

PS treat beamers as if they were a newborn baby. because, while they do bounce, they don't like it very much

I have a beamer that's been totally fucked after a fall. I think I'm going to replace it and then try to fix it DIY-style, so maybe I'll learn some things that could be helpful to you guys.

VPL-X600E disaster.....HELP!!!!
Can somebody help me out here.....

For a gig we did next week we used a Beamer from a friend with a yellow dot in the screening. He let us use it if we fixed the dot.So.....we opend the damn thing and we found out what the dot was. There was a burnspot on the blue panel.First question: when i read you're lines i wonder if it was a good idea to pull out the panel, therefor it must be put back so precisly.......second question: when we put the thing together we recieve a error on the display. An orange blinking signal (lamp / cover )

The beamer is a VPL-x600E from Sony.We already know that it's a trick from Sony to prevent people from fixing there own gear. It's a resetingprocedure.....Sony won't tell us.But maybe you guys know what to do........

oooooh don't be goin' inside your beamer unless you really know what you're doing.

I'm an elecronic engineer of 10 years and I wouldn't dare.
I have a couple of hitachi 3300 lumen beasties. twice a year I pay ?200 per projector to have an expert to dissasemble, clean them then reassemble them.
It will get rid of the green hue from the image and will make the beamer last a lot longer
