Just wondering if anyone new if it was possible to author a cd so that the first (say 4) tracks are VCD, and the rest is normal cd-rom?
Also is it possible to author a VCD in such a way that you can play the audio on a normal cd player?

Can't find the answers on vcdhelp.com, so any help would be welcome.

If i put an VCD/SVCD into my CD-ROM drive it looks like any other CD-ROM, but with cerain folders always there.

Have you tried to put data into a new folder you just created? Nero allows you to do that. I don't think that is VCD conform, but i guess most DVD-Players would not notice.
Try it.

I don't think audio will work.

you can put anything you like on to a VCD disk - it doest matter so long as you retain the nromal folders and files required for vcd

audio however won't work as its a diffrent format of disk

I wonder what would happen if you make a Mixed mode CD (Audio and Data) and put folders and files on the data part that are just like a VCD/SVCD.

Would be interesting to see how DVD players and Computers handle that disk.
