i contacted these guys before, these are so amazing

http://www.io2technology.com/media/Helio_2006_v1.mov

i can imagine this on an entrance to a club or event, or several of them as you walk through, but human height, so you have to pass through the display, it even has interaction, touch display.

my idea would be that the whole environment or many parts of the environment become the projection surface, not just a screen you look up at and have neckache, but actual surfaces you can walk through or touch, sit on etc.

i kind of think the screen is the boundary, and beyond this point is the dark abyss that has totally endless possibilities, most of the materials and equipment are available today for any idea, its only the price tag that limits you to what you can produce, unfortunately.

I suppose that as time goes on and vjing progresses/grows, the option and need from clients etc will push the limitations of budget dedicated to us.

lets hope

and if anyone has any other types of advanced projection methods or equipment that they love, show us.

when is christmas MMMMMMMUUUUUUUUMMMM ???

The helio disply is something I've been following for a while, the helio has difficulties in a club scene at present, the helio has only managed very small projections so far and there was concerns with people looking into the beam that it may serious damage eyesite. Also if you check the video you'll notice all the displays helio include in the video are in very low light areas, and those is bright areas have to have a black backdrop which sort of defeats the object if you still have to put up a big square of material to see the image in front. I think alot of these technologies are alittle gimicky for most environments and have serious prohibitive cost implications.

There are several technologies that I still think deserve more space in clubs, I really like the holopro screen that are transparent like glass but still hold a projected image:

Or the privalite glass that is transparent but when an electrical signal is passed through actually frost, is still pretty much totally used for glass walls of meeting rooms for instant privacy. but is an excellent projection surface.

I like the building advertising at the start
