I need info about contracts with promoters.
Cause I have problems with electricity and many other small but very important things on the gig. How do you make contract? On the paper or just fly-by/verbal?
Cause on the on NYE in came few hours before gig and i put my equip on the place near the DJ and then i went to dinner and when i came back i was on the other side of the hall and without any power supply near our place. And then we have to step into conversation with video installer and organaziers and we start to scold about everything...about our new place, that we're without any good equipment?!?...cause the video installer (projcetors and all cables, distrbution) have no idea how to set up 6 projctors with no quailty loss....and on the end i work with only three projectors...and besides that....we have arranged that we'll work on Techno floor and then other VJs for trance and house floor, cause of too small fee canceled the participation on this event...and then we have to cover the whole place with one video output (for the same fee)....thangs god that there was only two working projectors on techno floor...and one on trance...so we did not cover the whole party place with one video...so how do you set up your contracts?! I already have problems like this one.....and i do not ever wanna step in problems like this...so any idea?!

for larger events, I would always go with a written contract. which would state exactly what services, for how many rooms, you'll provide, and anything else that you'll be providing. state how close and how much power you'll need. my new year's eve gig was frustrating, client making changes all the way up until the day of the event. with a contract you can state any changes to this contract can/will result in additional fees.

fun stuff
<drips sarcasm>

There is a great article and example contract here (http://www.vjcentral.com/article/show/2894) , provided by wellREDman.

well the basics is to just discuss everything you feel may be an issue with the promoter first, then write down the things hes agreed to and get him to sign it ,
