Is there a plug-in or place/program to do the drip effects like the iTunes/Eminem ad from Apple?

seems to me that those splatters were made by hand, you could do it yourself with a door and a jar of paint!

As andy said, it's heaps of fun to do. I'd suggest it as a good way of escaping the digital medium too! I struggle at times with inspiration and it's often because I'm too focused on the digital.

yup, that is so true! The computer is no substitute as we often like to think..
For a change grab your camera and you'll realise how easy it is to make interesting footage, instead of this never-ending pixelstruggle trying to manage each one of 'm onto the right place!;)

- dropping ink into fishtanks, go mad with colours and framerate for clouds and explosions (as seen at the end of ghostbusters)
- arc welders and fireworks (as seen in star wars & star trek)
- Ultravoilet lights and UV paints (like tron but not quite)
- stick a camera in front of a projector and create feedback (as seen in bohemian rhapsody)
- get a macro lens and film insects, worms are particularly cool
- shadow puppets, particularly ones on long wires that make them wobble around...

so many ideas, so little time!

If you have a Mac, this costs $5

If you only want red-on-black it is free, but if you pay $5 you get green, purple, gold, and silver(?), and can change the background color (like to chroma blue).
