Hi all you fellow VJ's
As part of my major final year interactive media project.. i'm setting up an event end of april for VJ's in 3 night clubs withing bournemouth UK... all on the same night.
As part of the St.art Project.. The aim is to bring video art to the public... so on seemingly normal nights.. screens shall be erected in 2 commerical clubs as well as one student night club..
Also there are plans to put up one major big screen in the town centre although this is not a given at present.
The St.art Project aims to bring interactive art to the general public... via large 60inch LCD screen units operated by webcam motion sensor tracking... where Joe public can control the visual/soundscape from the unit via hand and body movements.
What i'm looking for is a few VJ's / Artists which would be a
Willing to contribute content for these units or perform at the Video events.
The units are Interactive Jukeboxes... and will run Flash 8, Processing, (Java based) C++ Quicktime movies (linear video pieces).
All content will be credited on the units and on the website which will launch at the same time.....
As i say the aim of this project is to bring the new emerging digital media field of Art to the public... rather than keeping ourselves locked in small sub cultures...
In enhance we're trying to challenge the notion what is art... in the 21st Cent... Think of the a mobile Tate for the Visual Interactive arts.
Plans are to develop it into a traveling interactive / Visual media circus... hitting major cities in the UK and europe.. the south coast event is mean't as a prototype.
