View Full Version : Ableton Live & Arkaos 'how to'

Hey guys
Im so sorry to ask such an amateur question in this section, but y'all talking about it....

i want to trigger my visuals (3min loops-cut like a music clip) in arkaos using ableton live (obviously one of the band memeber is controlling ableton live to play their beats) . all i need is to trigger the first visual and the rest will follow in sync. How do i trigger the first visual? what kind of lead do i need to receive the midi signal?

Just get a USB to midi adaptor bree, if your running Arkoas on a seperate computer that will do the trick... if you outputting midi from the ableton comp on a standard midi cable.

Alternatively checkout midi over lan and jsut connect the 2 computers with network cable.

BTW where in aust are you?

Or if you're both using Macs, wireless or wired MIDI built into Tiger...

Nah just the sydney show, spook will be touring with the band (he's part of the promotion team/ event organizers also so he fills a double tour roll).

Yeah my webhost crashed last night badly, still waiting for them to get the server with my site back online :( which sux cause with my tour to europ coming up I REALLY wanted to get the new showreel I finished last night online.

Nah I did have 1 DVJ-X1 @ that gig but it was just a loaner and was only really using it as a straight DVD player. My standard setup these days is 2 laptops running OpenTZT, V4, remote25 keyboard, beheringer FCB1010 footpedals & 8x8 matrix switch. Obviously I supliment this with cams, dvjs, roland CG8, entrancer, etc... as I need.
