As host for the VJ event threads I encourage you to post here.

Kriel's got some major shows coming up.
Holly, what's up in New York?
MorPh, what's down in Sydney?
Prime, don't tell me Amsterdam is quiet?

Hello pal - well I'm feverishly putting together an AV set for the "Cube Cinema" in Bristol early Feb and also struggling to get a piece ready for that ICA gig on the 13th. Just as soon as this is sorted (awaiting permission to use track) I'll be posting it off to the ICA - you reckon I should send the original Mini-DV or whack it onto VHS?
Speak easy and keep it unreal!

Yeah not much shaking down sydney way.
Although I was considering the idea of an actual VJC/F members meetup somewhere here in Sydney for a beer/coffee and a good old chat about our fav topic. Might ppost and see what sort of interest I can get, send PMs to all the sydney members, etc...
Well that along with the million other things I'm planning @ the momment (few of them relating to video).

Well Mpls is still alive and kickin', I've just been transformed into a worker bee, and have been rather unmotivated towards posting lately.
We had Dave from Lucid in madison come down to Plush two weeks ago, and just two days ago I performed one of my best sets ever, for the plush one year anniversary. We had Nigel Richards, Donald Glaude, and Frankie Bones on the main stage in one night, the lighting folks brought in a bunch of extra toys, and our colors and patterns were matching up all night, it was perfect. I can't wait to see the video from that.
NYE in Milwaukee Lev, Nixmix, and I performed at Zehncronicity, the 10th annual Drop Bass NYE party. It was held in an old theatre and was a spectacular show, with a 40'x30' main screen, two 16'x12' side screens, and the 3 of us mixing on 5 mixers for 12 hours. It was long, it was lots of work, but it was totally worth it, much fun! I should have some footage from that to post soon.
Also coming tonight - reviews of the famous BenQ DVD player, as well as a "luggable" pioneer model. I credit these two players for one of my best sets ever on sat night. (it's amazing how much better a set can be when all your discs actually *work*)

i think there should be some sort of php calendar that the vjf/c users can add their events to. much better than seperate threads.

Hmmmm I second that motion krez.
Only problem is we'll need to hi-jack X to do it, unless one of the guys that got in on the open sourcing of VJC/F wanna have a go.

I'm working on a solo photography installation, Thunderclub, at London's Royal Festival Hall for 2 February, and a collaborative piece with Sarah Warsop (choreographer) and Dave Beer (BacktoBasics) at Queen Elisabeth Hall 7 & 8 February, also in London.
Throughout January, I'll also be leading VJ workshops at the Royal Festival Hall in association with the above two shows.
Consequently, I've scaled back my VJ club gigs this month, and will only be playing Rehab in Leeds on the 25th, and a new night in Nottingham on the 26th.

?
Forgive my confusion Anyone but I always thought that this forum was about VJ gigslike AVIt, Videa, Vectors, etc where a few VJ are going to be together not an individual thing.
Don't get me wrong I am not having a go it is just that is what I though this forum was about.
It is interesting as to what the other VJ's are up to but if everyone posted we would have a crazy busy forum. :)
A calender would be good thing to add and maybe an option for teh future but not at the moment (well not at least from me :) )
ANyway you have your own webpages and signatures for info like that initially :)

Hi
Yeah I've been trying to get X to work on a VJ calendar, that'd be fantastic for the forum I think...
In the menatime it's encouraging to see eveyone's on the same RELOADING level :D
More precisely, I'm at the preparing level, trying to get the ICA thing of the ground, It's looking like quite a good line up...
Also my 12 week free VJ course is taking a lot of preperation to, and sending my showreel all over the world, like flower would spread its pollen...
keep the faith, Ne1

This is a cool forum, where you'd expect to hear about VJ events, and stuff... but its a shame that its ordered by date of submission, not date of event...
the www.CONTACTEUROPE.org event (just to shout its name a bit more) isn't happening till 9-11 MAY 2003 (shameless plugging) but its hidden back on page 4 (or something like that!) behind events that have been and gone. Perhaps a calendar would make more sense so that you can look for events when you want to go to them instead of when someone talked about them here?
putting individual parties on the site isn't such a bad idea if they are divided by area.... I mean, I'm not intending on heading to sydney for one of Morph's events (sorry, just a bit far away!) so probably I should be able to filter for European or US or something - otherwise, yeah, it would get swamped.

so.. then I was thinking... can't we make sticky threads?
like, make sure the events which havent happened yet go to the top of the list untill they're gone?
