Hello just starting out and am in need of some help/advice.
Ok well av leeched Resolume and been having a play about its not bad software and i've been having some fun with it but i cant help but feel that i'm missing out on something?!?
Is there a standard piece of software that ppl use for VJ'ing? or is it each to there own?
Also whats the best software for editing/encoding video?
Any other advice/tips would be a great help....
Thanks in advance :D

resolume is more like the mixer of your preproduced material(progs like premiere after effects 3dstudio flash)

cheers for the advice, what software would any one recommend for actual video mixing? Resolume seems ok but i dont really like the interface...
i got adobe premier for my footage editing needs, but could anyone recommend any plugins or any other soft that may come in handy for effects and such like?

Also just wondering how i would go about outputing the video to a projector?
My Graphics card got video out but i dont think you can out put to an analouge monitor and output through the s-video at the same time.

Check out the FAQ Where do I start / What software do I use? (http://www.vjcentral.com/show/1968) for recommendations of VJ software.
As to getting your vids to a projector try What is a scan-converter? (http://www.vjcentral.com/show/62)
As for plug-ins maybe you could "leech" a copy of AfterEffects. The plug-ins are endless. BTW, it's not exactly a good idea to brag about stealing or piracy around here. Some of the people who develop VJ software are on the boards and you may need their help someday.

BTW when i said leeched i dint mean a pirated copy (aint much pirate VJ stuff about... Infact i aint seen any), just that i simply downloaded the demo copy. I want to explore my options before shelling out on a serial :D
But i do belive in paying for sofatware that i am gonna use.
And i wasnt braggin, i just use "leech" as a term for "downloading"
Thanks again GRABz

it depends on the card you are using. some can "clone", some can do dual head, some can do dual head zoom and some support overlay mode. some can do all, like the matrox ones.
but usually you should at least do a dual head, with a the dual monitor feature in resolume....

If your playing with Resolume currently, but don't like the UI, I would recommend TZT, its got more FX options (with plugins) and in my opinion a much better UI setup and output options (a built in clone output window, rather than having to sacrifice your preview like Resolume).
The only major drawbacks are no drag and drop clip loading (you have to move files into the folder setup) and config files for FX and setups, see the review and tutorial on VJCentral which should make getting into it pretty easy :)
Plus the developer regularly checks for new feature suggestions here :)
And best of all its COMPLETELY FREEWARE!!!!
