Ok, Fat Boy Slim is coming to Caracas next Wendsday, everybody was asking me about if I was going for the visuals and even I sent my reel to the production company I didn't get any answer until this Friday at noon.

The thing was that one of the sponsor wanted presence on the screens as well but Fat Boy Slim does not allow sponsors to be present during his show, so I was called to do the visuals for the Djs before him and after and manage the image of the sponsorship because I have experience in that.

Of course I charged $3000 wich is a lot of money here, it would be like $8000 in the US in terms on how worth the money is. I am just bringing my two powerbooks and the edirol v4.

But the request of the sponsor saved my butt, I had about $200 in my pocket and they are going to pay me 100% on monday. Good because my birthday is on the 25th and I need some money. :o

Is Tim the name of FBS's VJ? I saw the rider and I was looking for his name because I am going to create the credis of the Djs and Vjs of the show, of course I am going to add his name because everybody is going to think I was the one doing the dedicated visuals and I do not want more confusions like that.

I just saw the clip and is incredible! that is the actual set up we are creating plus some other screens because I cannot use the main one.

You know... it have been easy for me to get into the industry here in Venezuela. It took 4 years to finally start making some money that still is barelly enough to support a decent way of living, in a country were minimun wage is less than $200 a month.

But my mind is when I have to move away from my country eventually, things move very differently outside. I wonder about that so I better learn the best here. Lets see, time will tell, still soon.

When the scene is small or rather quite non-existant, it's easy to "be succesful" even if you are shite at it. when nobody was doing it here, there were like 3 that got all the jobs, and I presume they thought they were ace. Until the scene flourished.
Now we have really GOOD VJs and those that were before just profiting on some stock footage garbage mixed up brand stuff, are nowhere to be seen, fortunately.
