Who around here knew or ever heard, the canines in general (Dogs & Wolves) just sweats by their tongues?
So, they don?t have any other sweating glands in their body to regulate their temperature or get rid of the heat excess... interesting???
Hehehe... Yeah, I really would like to see your big wideopen eyes in this moment :D :alien:

I shall continue to sample life, television, movies, anything and everything I can lay my hands onto. would "sampling" in the music industry have taken off if musicians were only allowed to sample from the public domain? doubtful. so why should we as artists be stuck with ancient black and white footage? as far as you having 30 hrs of content "stolen" seems to me like you've removed yourself from your gig if you don't realize your partner has split the signal to a VCR backstage... seems like as usual, you fell victim to the rockstar mentality... "the roadie will setup, it'll be fine" seems in your grandeur *****, that you've forgotten to actually make sure business is taken care of. I'd have to be knocked unconcious to not realize my partner/helper/roadie was pirating my shows. just makes you sound er... how to put this nicely... out of the loop. yes.

No .. A vj should only Play what he has a right to play.. Ie all of his own material, any copyright exempt material,, and ONLY copyright material that he has Gained PERMISSION to play.

this really disturbs me for some reason, to think of a VJ killing another VJ over video content. do you think before you type or do you just get all emotional and rant away? your lack of caring, makes me not care about you, in fact, I may make it a personal challenge to find and rip your material now. have fun! oh yeah, when ARE you releasing a DVD LOL... if you don't want people to pirate your shows, <ahem> may I suggest you set up your own shows, and don't release any DVDs... cuz guess what? people actually PLAY their DVDs.... if you're such a big backer of copyright laws, do us all a favor and count your MP3s and tell us what percentage of those are legal... oh, hardly any... why doesn't that suprise me.

actually, once the theives are in the majority, it will be quite democratic to use the 8 million hours of television and movies we've all had force-fed into our minds. you're so concerned with bottom feeding *****, but if you're as AWESOME of a VJ as you say you are (without a computer, I kinda doubt it, makes you more of a lighting tech IMHO) then you really shouldn't worry about all these so called amatuers... sounds like the Old Guard is worried about who's coming to replace him... just quitely step aside and let some people with some Ghz lappys at it... take your DMX controllers and go home already.

Do we believe in democracy? the democratic view is that our property be protected. copyright achieves this.
the only ppl that disaprove of this law are the thieves.

okay, I'll lay off you and make your life a lot easier, if you lay off people who use computers and sample the world around them. otherwise I shall be forced to defend my lowly brethren. ever hear of honor amongst theives....?

...forget it. he will just censor you sooner or later if you keep on making valid arguments he does not like (as 'sampling is not necessarily/always illegal')!
sadly nobody else on vj-forums seems to object to such conduct...

it seems to me that as long as you dont use outher vj's stuf without there pomision, and thats just out of respect for anouther human being, then use what the f**k you want, from warever you can, sample all, its what we do with evrey day experiance, we take bits of experiance, intergrate them within our own consciousness and self awarness and they become part of who and what you are after being filterd through our own sence of self, all you do when you sample is be a human

Could we please keep the whole sampling/copyright issue from spreading to envelope the entire site?
The copyright issue is important but there's no need for discussion of it to be spread all over the place.
The Mix Content forum is for discussion of creating and mixing content.

Well, well, well, This ***** ScissorsHead....
Just for the record, I didn?t started this thread, I?d just posted my cryptic opinion on the original "Getting your footage ripped" thread.
I?m wondering how my post got ending here... Hehehe the Syzygy realms.
BTW, I think my post is cryptic enough to be in any thread around, but surely not for starting/heading any of them :smurf:

Since the off-topic part is the thread starter, I just thought I'd add my own aside.
Everybody has heard of the famous experiments with "Pavlov's Dogs". Give a dog a steak and ring a bell. Eventually, you ring a bell and the dog salivates without a steak around.
BUT
Have you ever seen the pictures of the experiments? Pavlov didn't lovingly take a pencil and pad of paper around, pat the pooches on the head and ring his bell. His team used dozens of animals, and sliced off the side of the dog's face to expose the salivatory glands, running tubes out of them to measure the amount of drool.
Sample that.
