Well, the art show is in the bag. Rigging posed some challenges but not too bad. Then I showed up for the gig and found that the live band was doing A/V. Apparently they were not happy with my projector so they zip tied their projector to the bottom of mine. The mount point was dodgy to begin with. Yikes. The audio director had also moved shit around such that my second screen now had the DJ camped in front of it. Whoosh. I was tired and cranky. Anyway, it worked out. Such a different type of crowd than the one I am used to. I was suprised to find all these folks at a gallery show to be far more ignorant of what we do than your average raver. The percentage of folks asking me what song I was playing was much higher even though a dude with turntables was 10 feet from me. Still, the few exhibiting artists who figured it out were appreciative. I was loving the last DJ as well. Tear down was cake. I'd do it again.
