IMHO Theory is the real weak point of live video performance at the moment.
Too many grey boxes and not enough grey matter.
I have previously proposed that as a hybrid medium we should frankenstein a theoretical basis for our work out of the surrounding mediums (which already have some substantial theoretical frameworks):
-Dance
-Film/Cinema
-Theatre
-computer games
-late 20C Non-realtime video art (Bill Viola etc)
-Musical Performance
But maybe having read some of the texts you suggest we could have our own VJ theory.
There is something magical about the medium of video especially when it is in real time. Some thing about an externalised sensory organ or even (with a little programming or other trickery) it can come to reflect the process of human consciousness itself.
If we want our art form to domninate this century we have to think about what is really is or what it could come to mean.

Thanks for that link; we need so hard to have some interesting theoretical backing for what we do; regular media theorie or art critique, just doesn't pin it down!
