Sorry about this but I seem to be monopolising the board, so I hope my questions are helping others.

Question 2, media library. How can I get hold of some MPEG's or AVI or other video footage that I can loop and project?

I was lucky enough to get hold of a DR Devious video which first got me interestef in VJ'ing and I must hold my hands up and say that this has got me out of some tricky situations, when namely my PC decided to go wrong for 5 out of the 8 hours I was projecting, bloody windows!!!!!!!

Is there any websites that have free access to video footage/ visual loops. Also how do I stand when it comes to copyright issues?

Also how do I stand when it comes to copyright issues?Copyrights can be discussed on the legal issues (http://www.vjforums.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=27) forum, please keep this on topic.

The best source for videos has to be http://www.archive.org, especially now they have a new design and an improved search engine / directory listing.

Get a video camera and Premier/Vegas3 and make your own!!Adding filters and effects to other people's stuff can only go so far, if you use one of the top five apps and freely available footage, your work could easily end up lookin like everyone elses.

I agree with Jaffa808 - producing your own material is the best way to keep your work individual.

If you do want some footage to play with, you might want to buy some of the DVDs that are on sale at AudioVisualizers (http://www.audiovisualizers.com/library/ftp.htm)

I've only seen one of the disks but there was some good stuff on it.

gotta agree with the rest: focus on content making use highend software if you can so that if you don't have to vj but use your expertise in other fields (demoreel making, making a vid for the promoter of the event make him and you him happy)

as for your monopolising the board: well every dog has its' day
:p no kidding : that's what it's for !!
