I am looking for a videoplayer that plays fullscreen over DUAL Screens , can anyone help me with that ?
I would like to play a movie in 1600x600 resolution, over my two screens (using DUAL video-card device), so each screen 800x600.
Does anyone know about a videoplayer that can handle that ?
All help well apreciated ... thanks in advance !

now, I'm not sure...but I believe VJ Pixylight was doing stuff like that w/ good ol' Windows Media Player!
Are you using a single dual-head video card or two video cards?

I could make a 'media player' that does this in 2 minutes.
wont have much of an interface ... just drag drop play.. PM/email me privately

Vjamm Pro is ridiculously expensive. I want to play videos across my dual desktops, but $500 US is insane just for a clip player. Any other solutions for playing videos at 2048x768?

OK ill make a multiscreen player and put it up when I'm done. Are you sure about 2048x768 though? I wouldnt push your computer too far, a 1600x600 one would seem much more reasonable.

Yer right, 640x240 or 800x300 or any aspect ratio of 2.67:1 would be fine. That's great that you are undertaking this project, thanks Robotfunk.

These resolutions make even less sense to me? Can you explain why you want to fill only half of screen height? Do you perhaps want to display one on top of another instead of left-right?

Maybe you coders (for inspiration) and users (to test options), could find interesting enough this little piece of Japanese experimental Media Player substitute...

Note: As I already said, it?s experimental ;)

Because in order to have the aspect ratio correct across 2 screens, the width must be doubled and the height stays the same. Normal aspect ratio is 4:3 (1.333:1), but the width is doubled so it becomes 8:3 (2.67:1). It's basically like having 2 320x240 clips side by side in a single, double width clip.

It seems that a few codecs allow video to play across both screens. I rendered a clip at 800x300 (PicVideo MJPEG) from Vegas and this plays on both screens when stretched (Windows Media Player 6.4)

burningfist > are you using a matrox dualhead card???
if so its not the codec but the fact that you graphics card doesn't support overlay on the second monitior
if you use an app that doesn't use overlay the you'll be able to play on both monitors

EyesWeb 3.0 Plays across both screen beautifully. And you can add MIDI control and FX, though I am not yet sure if you can do scratching or play head positioning. EyesWeb is very flexible, but this means that it is not tailored to one specific application (i.e. VJing). So you will have to build your own compositions with mixers and switchers. This is good for people with specific needs
