holo screens
maybe that's what they used?

there is nothing new about this new "world first" holograph.
it was led screens laid flat with a plastic membrane stretched at around 45 degrees above them.
in other words peppers ghost.
the technology to do it has been floating around london for a year or two now, someone finally found the cash to get it together. that is the only innovation.
all the same, a good idea well executed.

yup, the dance troupe DV8 are doing something almost identicle with a 5k lumen sanyo instead of the LED, pretty clunky, but a nice effect when they go to a total blackout with a still taken from a live camera pointing at the stage left up.
