Want to win a free copy of The VJ Book and DVD (http://www.thevjbook.com)? Just answer the following question:
* What's the best way to turn the general public on to VJing?
We'll send five free copies of the book/DVD to the VJC/VJF members who submit the top five entries chosen. Brevity, humor, and unusual thinking are encouraged, but the answers should be realistic and not require much money.
A little research would be nice too, if possible-- for example, rather than simply saying "Produce a prime-time show based on a VJ competition," it would be better to describe the format of the show more fully, and perhaps even name some actual television producers and programmers whom you have reason to believe would, as individuals, be particularly interested in the show. But that's asking a lot, I know. Short, off-the-cuff entries are great, too.
We'll run this contest for a little more than a week, until Nov 11th. Submit your ideas before then, either by posting them on this thread, or else by sending them directly to me at: vjcontest (at) excite (dot) com.
Entries will be judged by me and Stefan G, who's one of the great pioneers of the VJ field. (He's featured in the book and on the DVD.)
The publisher and I are running this contest to promote The VJ Book, of course. I think that most of the people on VJF/VJC would love this book-- or perhaps hate it, but have a strong opinion either way. The book is available now at many places online (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=%22the%20vj%20book%22), and should also be showing up in a few stores soon.
I spent over a year, and most of my savings account, working on this book. I interviewed many great people and did a lot of library research to delve deep into topics that are all near and dear to VJC/VJF members' hearts. I'm proud of the result-- I think this book is a real contribution to the VJ community, and naturally, I want to share!
"Makes a great gift!"
