hi there,

"one big communication company" is going to have an event on 30 november, dedicated to the opening of their new leading shop in moscow (russia). there will be small vip concert/party for ~100 guests so the agency asked me to find an audio/video project to play there as a headliner (there will be some more media activities around).

they need more or less big names and high class show (previously they brought here d-fuse and light surgeons), though i doubt that those 100 guests are experienced enough in media scene to recognize anybody..

anyway, if you are ready to come to moscow with A/V act at 30th november, PLEASE PM ME NOW with brief details of your show, required budget (including your fee) and [possibly] main technical specs (amount of screens needed, etc.).

please note that [1] the event will be held inside the shop room (200 m2) therefore your technical requirements do matter, [2] it is really urgent - the promoter needs the names tonight, so deadline for this request is just several hours..

looking forward to your responses

hiya,

it looks, after some speedy emailing, that enough of the VJammAllstars are available to make that gig! can't contact everyone right now but we vary between 4 and 7 people anyway.

so - you could PM me and sleepytom with your email address asap (i'll be online for a while tonight and in the morning - i'm in austria teaching, and tom's touring in the US so i guess he has intravenous braodband or something) . one of us will get back to you on email and discuss specs/money/logistics etc etc.

thanks!

Mark

dear masters,

please consider that the room mentioned is not so spacey - 200m2 including eqpt of the showroom and several other participants' setup - so unfortunately the projects with 3-4-more people and lots of hardware just would not fit

thanks for all responsed

spacewise absolute syzygy seem to have a too big setup for this venue, that would be my recommendation to kick the vips ass. so you are looking idealy for one or two artists with laptops and not so much midi/audio gear. concerning the "big name" requirement then theres glamoove and hamageddon doing av as soloists. hmhm, I guess I am not big enough but i pm you the specs of my current av projects anyway, one of them is quite suitable for an audience that just wants to be entertained.

thanks to everyone replied;

unfortunately it seems noone will be playing at that event - the corporate bureacrauts are keeping silence for two weeks already with only two weeks left. anyway i keep your names for future offers so let's wait until the smarter sponsor/event appear

all the best

I was wondering how did the show go??

Who did you end up having as your VJ?

Also, what is the Moscow VJ scene like? Weren't there any locals to fill the gap? Surely there is a enough creative talent in Moscow alone to cover most of the world!
:)

Would also like to find out, hows is Moscow going lately.. Haven't been there is almost a decade. I used to know Moscow city back to front, yet I bet a lot would have changed since then.

as far as i know the show did not go at all
or went the usual bla-bla-buffet way

the agency people did not confirm anything that we talked about to them; they blamed the sponsor for that, but it doesn't seem like a pure coincidence that this cancellation [first time for 2.5 years] happened right after the previous account manager [pretty clever girl with good taste and wide erudition] has left that agency..

of course there are locals to fill any gap here; not so many, but existing styles and experience are well enough; yet of course, creative talent alone is not enough to achieve a result - this case just demonstrated it once again
