I'm new to DVD authoring and want to know what is the best way to create a DVD for use on a live music (rock band) stage.
I plan to record drum/synth tracks along with video footage onto DVD so that everything is pre-packaged and in sync. I want to eliminate (or at least minimize) anything that will appear on the video screen other than PURE content. That is, I don't want things like "Play", "Pause", or menu icons to be visible after each song is over. I have already read that getting a DVD player that allows you to turn off OSD will prevent "Play", "Pause", etc. messages from appearing. But what about menu buttons?
I am thinking that the way to do this is create a main menu that has a button for each song (i.e., chapter), but to hide the buttons so that I would have to rely on the DVD player readout to know what song I'm on. However, I don't see a way to hide the buttons (I am using Sony Vegas + DVD).
Am I on the right track here as far as the DVD authoring goes?
(I guess I could use Arkaoss with a laptop to control the video via MIDI, but I'm hesitant to bring a laptop on stage for reliability reasons)
