We hace just have 2 comp we are going to VJ also but at the other side of the rum we r goign to set up as a half moon 6 screens....and we are going to show a visual history. we r thinking 2 synchronyse 6 DVD....and show some hsitory crossing through the screens....but I dont how to do it really and really dont know if its gonna work....

Does anybody here has done something similar using many beamers presenting ahistory in diffenferents time intervals...dont know if Im making me my self clear right now.... :scared:

Hi krapolaux,
We've done some work with multi screen output and some friends of ours (The Axis of Weevil) have taken it to the next level and do their entire set in mixed two screen widescreen. The setup they use is four dvd players and two V4's, content is created at 1440 by 576 then the sequence is imported into a 720 x 576 sequence (in PAL land, change to suit if NTSC) rendering first one side then the other, burn these on to dvd's as screen one and screen two and place them in dvd players on top of each other and use a the remote pointed at both to trigger. This general concept can be used for more screens to create the effect you're after. Depending on the dvd players your using this isn't exactly frame accurate but fine for the club environment and the minimal budget neccessary to create what is pretty much a high end AV 'trick'. We've found the effect looks best when there is some distance between the screens.

If you have a budget or some computers lying another and want frame accurate ouput this program is the answer http://www.syncmaker.com/ I've done some testing and it seems reliable, and it is very easy to use, if you use it or anyone out there has any experience I'd be interested to know how well it works in practice. For a beautifull clean image the benefits of a vga contenection to the projectors at there native resolution can't be beat.
have fun ...lotech

I have done 3 channels for VJ work and over a dozen for day job.

Set up comps in AE that are the total width of all of your combined screens. One master comp. That comp is subbed out for rendering into the different channels. Pricey way to sync is with solid state MPEG playback cards. Cheap way is with DVD players of the same make and model with a remote macro that syncs them up every now and then.

For bonus points create 3D content that is shot with a virtual multi-camera rig that mimics your screen layout. This creates a fantastic dimensional feel.
