I have a gig in 6 days, but i won?t be on the city ,
so they asked me how much will cost a couple of vcd, one for each of the djs ( 3 djs i think ).

Last time i asked 500$ for 2 hours ( i was using 2 4x3m screens )
and i made 4 vcds , each one with 3 different clips of 3 min ( total of 9 minutes of video looping 6 times ) for another screen that only show that vcd with the name of the djs and background animations.

They loved that animations, and today they are asking the same work, this cuestion is not only for this gig,,,
i thing that some people rather paying for vcds than vjs,
because they can use ir forever without paying again,
so dvd/vcds should be more expensive than vjs ?

I use resolume record funcion,,, and last time i used resolume normaly and recorded the output with Sony Hc42 ... do you think that is a bad way to make this job ?

if you can't get them back or figure out some way to limit their use of them, then yes, DVD/VCD should definately be more expensive than hiring a VJ!

last time, 4 of the 6 where friends, and i leave the vcd with their names, to the other djs i set up the animation with a big logo of the party, and with the date,,, so i don?t think they use it again,,,, but who knows....

to make the vcd i used the record function of the resolume,,,
and in Vegas i set up the tracks and some others fade in/out
what do you think about this ways of doing it ?

sounds like a fine way to make a VCD, assuming you get a good frame rate via the resolume capturing. otherwise you might wish to play "live" even just to VHS, then capturing the recorded VHS back in either directly to VCD-rez mpeg1 (if you don't want to edit), or back in to a decent avi to edit/render via Vegas.
