Hi All!

I just opened up an account on the loopserver and downloaded a bunch of MOV files off the SAT1 directory. Every time I try and open one up, I get this error: "Could not open the file 'xxx.mov' because it is not a file that QuickTime understands". I'm running QuickTime 6 on Win2k, don't suppose anybody has got any ideas as to what's up?

Tom.

Ya, got the same problem. Only able to open on a Mac. Not sure why, they appear to be standard Animation codecs.

BT: first - sorry I didn't get back to you privately - have had so much email lately I am going freak'in bonkers, on top of other weirdness in my life lately. Long story here, but short version is that I currently master content on my mac, and don't test everything anymore on my pc as well - I used to have separate discs for mac and pc - but simply dont have the time anymore. We will be releasing approx 100 GB of new content over the next two months - what happens, the generic "you" submits content to me/us/AV.com in your personal favourite codec/format/resolution, etc, and I filter it prior to release, to make sure there isn't any elements that I personally pass quick judgement on that will get anybody into any trouble (I am working on contractual stuff that will release me from liability, but this is a slow process, and so far I have just been focusing on building up the media archive ) - anyway, I have media cleaner, etc, but only so many cpu cycles and personal "man" power - I already "employ" a few people on a part time basis to help out - if "you" - whoever is reading this - have both a mac and pc, and want to help out converting/filtering content on either a volunteer or "pay-what-I-can" (as in, depending how my finances are at the time, shoot you a bit of cash or equipment, or whatever in good faith trade) - then please send me a msg, so we (as a community) won't have issues like this in the future - btw, we are working on an automated solution to this and related issues, but as you know sophisticated software takes time....

thx.
