safari / tiger - but i think the problem is the connection or something, i got the quicktime 'Q' in the pop-up, but nothing came, so i then got the url (http://www.michellepenland.com/integratedvisionsproductions/video/AvitDomeSmall.mov) from the html and curl'd it but even that direct unix way ran out of steam 9mb in. so may be something peculiar this end, not sure.

that 'streamload' link gives me access denied, shame.

...since he never posts here..
here is the progress report on the HDV bit..(oh and where 'hexagonalism ' is popping up, w/the pioneer link:)

Had to send this link once I saw the background art:

http://www.pioneerprodj.com/

what ever inspired pioneer to use those hexagons as a flash
backdrop. Keep the Hive a buzzin you world-class VJ's you :}

Btw - I am nearing completion on the performance highlights rough-cut
of the AVIT-retreat footage. Cut 6 hrs of night time vid down to a
high-impact 6 minutes. Hope to post a 1280x720 HD stream tonight.
You'll need Quicktime 7 to view it, and a fast as machine. Of course
everything can be down converted to SD at a later date.

I'd still love to share footage - etc w ya'll. I'll probably have to
batch down a group of the best HD clips to DV-ntsc for those who want
it - I can burn to DVD as data then.

Who else has video of the event? I am most interested in interviews
of VJ's and attendees.

Archetype - over n out

The footage thus far posted is cool, but doesn't show Killing Frenzy's max/jitter patch in action..

I am sure that Archetypes edit will show it, but it would be nice to se KF footage for sure!

As it stands now, Bryan and I will be exchanging footage first. From there we plan on sending them out to Doug/pixy and Leo. Each person that receives a package should have one ready themselves so it can go into circulation. Doug said he plans on down-converting the HD to SD for us low budget folks without high level access;)

Here is what Leo wrote about his footage:
I think I have 3 or 4 tapes (one is just storm footage, so probably can
pass on that)
I might try to condense them down, since there's a lot of gap on at
least one of them.
But put me down for a max. of 3 tapes.

Bryan said that his DVDrs will go out Friday. Mine will be out tomorrow.

Gian wrote:
I only have a couple of tapes - one of nature and setting up, the other of
the night. The highlight is the shot of James mixing with 3 V4s and a
cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

Gian should be last in line due to him being in Japan. Since the stuff we send out should be copies, he could in theory just keep all our stuff without the need to duplicate or he can ship them all back to the original authors.

If you havent edited your stuff down yet...well get on it! :grrr:

PM me if you have footage that I dont know about and I'll make sure to get you on the list!:yep:

:o
...since my DV cam hit the skids while back, I didn't film anything other than the part from the tree outside the dome..Don't know how I did that being the state I was in at the time;)

James, like me, doesn't have a DV cam, and Lev well he prefer the memories in his head better, so I don't believe he got any tape.
But we all need the footage along with toby and miss nix, and other's...

...tho for now, I guess you really need to get the footage circulated amongs the footage gathers @ the event.

of coarse i am totally open to that! Once the DVDrs are distributed amonst those who shot footage, then to everyone else who wasnt able to, then out to those that couldnt attend. It's a lot of footage. Not too sure how many others want what we have, but I'll say this:

If you were not at the retreat or did not have a DV cam to use, but still want footage, PM me your full name and address. I'll compile a list to try and please everyone;)

Sound good?

You might get swamped tho:)
Your call on that, but maybe it would be good to make the footage available to those who want to have future AVit retreat's(for getting funding for their event's and what not), and make it all avaiable thru avit.info..

just a thought:P
