Hi there,
as you might guess, i am pretty new to this comunity, and i am joining it, because of one major reason: I am mainly a graphic artist and animator, and i found out, that i have a lot up my sleve, which might be of interest to every creative person, which is working in the field of visualisation.
Currently i am here, to show a collection of footage clips, which i made. All these clips are made seamless and endless (they loop back into themselfes). When i created these clips, i had mainly event marketing in mind, but it turned ot, that the footage might also something, which VJs could use as well.
I would like to invite everybody to have a look at the motives. Unfortunateley the website is in german (i am working on an english version) and, there are just 6 animated samples.

Volume 1:

Volume 2:

animated samples:

It would be great to get some input from this comunity. Please keep the following in mind: I am working on a download section, where i put up some free samples, but in general this is something which i want to sell as a DVD.
The price which is mentioned on the website is a price including all rights to use the footage without any limitations (everything between a small club and woodstock is covered). I am planning to have a special price model for VJs, and i am doing research on what the ideal pricepoint would be (on this input would also highly apprechiated).
I am also doing videos of the likes which you can see on the website on individual request.
Ok, so much for now. Questions are welcome ...
Best regards,
Heiner

Welcome!

I humbly suggest that these clips (the few that are posted as animations) are too simple. Most VJs already own Artmatic, ParticleIllusion, AfterEffects (etc) and will be able to make their own looping backgrounds.... You could easily market these as looping textures, but for VJing (in my opinion) they are very flat and don't offer enough light/dark areas to please lumakeyers.

However, there IS a market for ready-to-wear loops for beginner VJs, and also for bars that want to play a dvd. Compare your business plan to Motionloops (http://www.motionloops.com/vj.html). Beginner VJs probably will want AVI or MOV files ready to import into their computer at either 320*240 or 640*480, while bars will want pre-mixed hour+ dvds that are ready to play to their music/dj.

Just some suggestions to keep in mind.

Cheers.

Hi holly,

thanks for the input! You are right, almost everybody can create such animations by him (her) self, but the target are peoples who do not want to do that, because they want to focus on other things.
Thanks for the "Motionloop" link, and yes, our business model is quite similiar to what these guys are doing (phew, i think i am a lucky sod, that i am trying to start off in old europe), but i think, our footage is quite different of the footage which these guys are offering.
Then: You are right with paricle illusion, but especially the animated samples are not done with it. Here i usesd a tool which works with noise equotaitions and complex perlin structures.
Anyway, it is good to get such constructive input, and in general i am valueing your answers positive: My idea is good, there is a market, but my product needs additional work. What else do i want :-)

Cheers,
Heiner
