hi. this is my first post. i have decided to start seriously experimenting with real time video projections....
i have worked on music and video for a long time now, but never on a live set...
...so anyone please help on deciding which software to get... i have read the software forum and this one, but i still feel that my problem is not there...
i have a mac g4 400mhz laptop... is it enough to vj? i hope so, i am interested in projecting still images and little video + vector animations... so i imagine i dont need a higher capacity machine...
...so which do you think is the best aoftware i should get? i have tried resolume on a friend?s pc and i loved it (but i have a mac).
thanks for the help.

for pictures and some video i can recommend onadime - go to www.onadime.com (http://www.onadime.com) and download the demo of "Onadime Composer 1.4". it's a bit tricky at the beginning, but if you got into it a bit ...
i think performance will be ok on your mac.

all the best for you

Read Where do I start/What software should I use? (http://www.vjcentral.com/faq/show/1968) for some more suggestions on Mac software.

I personally like RC Fuse (http://www.vjcentral.com/software/show/1921) (best for very short loops and/or live video feed). It has an easy interface, autopilot mode, and cheap price. It's a Macromedia Director based program so it's OS9-only until Director is updated to OSX.

Top of the line app for Mac is probably the any-minute-now VDMX3 from VIDVOX (http://www.vidvox.net). It was designed specifically for the G4 laptop.

There are plenty of free OSX clip players listed on versiontracker (http://www.versiontracker.com). Check out the free Cellulo Player (http://www.cellulo.info/about.php).

Good luck and have fun!
