I just found a cheap mx10 on a swedish online auction...in the description it says that it needs one synced input to mix...is this the case with all mx10's or does this one have one broken TBC?
If the case is a broken tbc my question would be can it still do straight cuts without loosing sync?
thanx

not sure from the wording whether they are trying to say that th synching on this particular 10 is bust,
but normally a 10 doesnt have a proper tbc as such it synchs whatever is coming into channel 2 to the input of channel 1 so you have to have a rock solid source on 1 (ie computer/cam/dvd)
so it makes this mixer particularly unsuitable for mixing 2 vcr's

hows it been going with that MX10?
I'm bidding on one now but am a bit worried as its quite expensive - around 220 Euro, it seems like quite an old mixer. not worried about TBC as I will be using digital sources. M yalternativ is a simlper 4 channel mixer as I definitely need at least 3 sources for now.
I would appreciate some general feedback on how you are getting on
cheers

Be carefull if you want to change screen resolution while running or switch TV out on/off with these mixers.
On my Hama DVM 1000 even the second source (its sync should not affect the final output) produces glitches if I do that - don`t have to tell you what happens if I do that with the first one....

well....its ok but i AM in the market for a new mixer. basically i use this as a switch that can fade.... we run two lappies and go back and forth between them and thats it. i paid about 90 euros for mine. the keying really sucks on it, mind i havent had it modded yet. to be honest i dont think i would pay 220 for it. On the other hand prices on second hand mixers are quite high so i don know the real market value for the mx10.
Good luck, and just get in touch if u have any more questions.
