I've been testing Resolume today with the setup I plan to use on my first VJ "gig" this friday ... It's a PC running Win XP, and two graphics cards. My TNT2 for the projector display and an old PCI card for the GUI.

The problem is, I can't get the fulscreen mode to work. The preview window detaches and goes to the second desktop OK when I click the "dual monitor" button, but if I click the "maximize" button, the window dissapears (i can still see it in the taskbar, tho). If I click the "fulscreen" button, I get a fulscreen view, but with a horrible flicker. It's so bad I can't see almost half the image, almost like it's not drawing the complete frame.

The only way I got it to work is to manually resize the window over the whole screen, but that leaves me with an ugly black border. (If i click the fulscreen button _after_ resizing the window there's less flicker, but it's still there. :(

I've read that for best results my projector desktop should be 640x480 (since I use 320x240 clips), but WinXP won't let me reduce the resolution below 800x600.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

we have resolume working sweet on a similar system, the only difference is that were running 2k not xp, might this be the problem (ive never heard anyone say anything nice about xp except mr gates)

I've seen this problem. I think we fixed it by making both screen resolutions 1024x768, and then scaled the video on the output monitor by selecting 640x480x16 -> scale to current monitor. Its unfortunate to have to do it that way cos you'd think resolume would run better on an output monitor which matches the video resolution, i.e 640x480x16. But it didn't seem to want to work that way for us.

hope that helps

I don't think that XP is the point, on my system (P866, 512Mb, Tnt2 with TV out and an cheap old pci graphics card) I have tested resolume and its doing fine in a 2 monitor setup.

Maybe it's the colors/resolution settings on your display-card, Resolume should do best with 640x480 and 16mill. colors.
There is also an advice on the resolume page (somewhere..)
that the first graphics card should be used for output, the second for interface. But that was just for performance reasons i think.
