can somone please tell me a name or give me a link to a good automatic audio responsive animation programme.

The application ill be using in would probably be output from audio mixer to comp, out to video mixer for VJ to mix live.

I know theres shitloads on audiovisualisers.com but i would prefer to have some opinions rather than sifting through the rubbish.

Thanks,

zeista

OK what do you want it to do??? Do you want it to generate video to go with your audio, or just react to audio input to mix your preprepared material???

If you want it to generate stuff go with VJo or Winamp (gawd I can't believe I said that :p)

For sound reactive mix you could use either of the above also or I think Flowmotion has beat detection, hmmm there are others....... have a look @ some of the reviews @ vjcentral.com

Good to hear your going to get a VJ to still come in and mix cause the fact is nothing beats a real person for audio response.

If you want to be able to use beat and audio analysis data to drive your visuals you should try visualJockey R3. There is a free demo you can get at
http://www.visualjockey.com/

vJo R3 will let you use any kind of ressources (live video, AVI, flash, pictures or procedural generation) and process them in a hierarchy of effects. Everything from the AVI player mixing fwd/bwd on the beat to a palette rotation speed can be set to follow a whole set of controllers based either on the sound analysis or on user inputs like mouse, keyboard, joystick or MIDI. It it also coming with a nice manual explaining all the basics.

Also (this week we hope ;) ) there should be a new release with support for 3d !

yeah, if you have the money, get VJo3. Or check out Flowmotion too.

If you're looking for a free app, check out GForce.
Run the standalone app (don't use winamp, please)

www.55ware.com

You can customize it to an extent. Drop your own movie files/pix into the program folder and have it use them randomly.

Also know that using this kind of tool on its own is generally looked upon as a "newbie" thing. Most people don't know the difference, but WE do. You can get away with using it for a little while....

firstly if you want help, don't friggin yell @ them when they try helping, secondly maybe if your english was a little better we might understand better....

So you want an "animation package", what like 3d studio max??? lightwave?? etc..... that what renders in realtime responsive to audio input??? does it have to be in realtime??? or are you talking about a program that generates animation from an audio input in real time like winamp???

And if you friggin yell again I'm going to stop helping you mate....

thats way more angry than my yell could ever be. and as i said earlier.. i was yelling for fun, not for angry relief. Jeeeeeze man. does EVERY forum have to include compulsary bitching? I thort vjs were a little more focussed.

Like winamp i think.... outputs animation responsive to the audio input, in REALTIME. but better than winamp, cause thats some cheezy shit. man.

I doubt that morph is going to respond now man. I am new member as well like yourself and just starting in this whole VJ thing. I have only asked one question on this board and had awesome response from the members. I don't think yelling like that will get you anywhere, especially on here. And Vj's are nice. at least the ones that i have met so far. Peace.

Cheers makingcoin, no I will still help cause I am above compolsory bitching (hehehe :p) sorry zeist but I just don't like when I'm try to help someone and they come on breaking net ettiquete with HUGE shouting (biggest that has ever been posted on VJ forums actually) and using a condescending tone and words like GETTIT and not a word of thanks for the help they have been offered..... over that back to the help.

Hmmm realtime generated stuff, yes winamp swirlies are cheezy as hell but you can do other stuff with it, play with the presets and learn how to make your own that look different (once again I can't believe i'm supporting winamp..... LOL)

Besides that you have old skool progs like Cthuga or even that Oozic 3d thing or maybe the new Zuma (I think thats what its called) check all the progs here (http://www.audiovisualizers.com/toolshak/vjprgpix/softmain.htm)

has anybody seen artmatic samples? the stuff is BEAUTIFUL...i was hoping for something that looks like artmatic that responds to audio feed.

Well if you really want audio responsive video, why not spectralize your audio waveform and make video that is audio???
check the pic...

I agree with you MoRpH.... But, at sometime you?ll want to free your hands, eyes and mouth to grab some beer and kiss to your girlfans!!

P.D. @Goosshh@ MoRpH.... How much I would like to have any of your funny & eloquent images... (maybe one with an old old lady or a chimp trying to kiss you), to show you my point. :D
